school has been hard...
just finished a presentation and one more assignment..still another 4 or 5 more to go plus a myraid of tests..i need help!
yesterday went for shobana's performance at the geylang east shivan temple..
wow she was a real good entertainer!!!!
i won't say much about her the technical details about her dance like adavus and nritta stuff per say cuz it was not perfect but her style, grace, her beautiful choreography, her EXPRESSIONS especially, it was like WOW..
she made bharathanatyam, usually a tad boring dance, seem so exciting and even funny..
i really enjoyed the 2 hour long performance and her student's dance is like WOW as well..her choreography highlighted the grace and the adavus were different and non-repeatative..
after the performance, there was a mini nritralaya gathering..i mean since shobana is such a big name, the who's who of dance world were there..many students from all different schools, senior dancers, some teachers..so it was a basic indian gathering of "eh hey how are you?"
was so funny cuz saw some flute students there and they were going on about Shobana and how they became tongue-struck when they saw her and only managed to smile like idiots..haha that's how i'd react with SRK..but i probably won't even manage a smile cuz i'll be fainted on e floor..
aniweis i thoroughly had fun and prata afterwards with gayathri + vicky, yoges, sangitha and my bf was equally fun..
talked alot about dance and the state of my dance class now and i think i know what i should do now..
if i really do wanna climb upwards in dance, i have to make a sacrifice now..
and i have to forgot about all the loyalty and think about what's important for me as a dancer..
after all, no use for me being so loyal and sticking around when the people there dun give 2 hoots about my advancement..
i mean i think sivashini is a great teacher and all but she can only do so much if the other elements are not cooperating..
and after talking with gayathri, i see what will happen to me if i stay on..
and so after this iliaiyar nadanam, i will be leaving nritralaya..
this is a really hard decision for me cuz i've grown so much with nritralaya over the past 7 years but it is necessary for me to that..haiks..
alright the study of the brain calls me..nite folks..
